Tetris took the home computer world in storm. Within the limits
of the platforms, these licensed ports were more or less the same.
Tetris for the C64 sported black and
chrome optics instead of the Russian landscapes of the original,
but that was about as much variety as you got.
The Tetris arcade machine, built by Atari, was different, mainly because it allowed two players to compete with each other. The landscapes have been replaced by an architectural element that seperates the two wells. If there is only one player, the second well is used for piece statistics. A few games used the concept of the Atari coin-op Tetris and had similar graphics:
There was also a Sega Tetris arcade machine, built in the same year.
